Birthday Weekend

Birthday Girl!!!!

Birthday Girls!!!

As most of you know, Ellie and I share the same birthday, April 17th. I took the day off on Friday, and we were able to spend it together. My parents and my younger brother came up to Bham on Thursday afternoon and stayed through Friday evening for Ellie's 1st birthday party. We had a wonderful weekend together and celebrated our birthdays pretty much the entire time!

Ellie got to open some of her presents on her real birthday. One of them was her new wagon that she absolutely LOVES!

Friday evening, my parents, Thomas, Shelby, Rusty, Uncle Josh, Ellie, and I all went to Brio for birthday dinner!

Thomas, She She, and Mom at dinner
We had our first round of birthday cake/dessert at Brio. Poppy is helping Ellie blow out her candle!

Then we had our second round of cake after dinner! Ellie and I each had our own cake.
We let her just dig in!

We had the big 1st Birthday Party on Sunday afternoon, and boy did Ellie love every minute of it!!! I agonized over what to do about the party since it was supposed to be in our front yard, and the rain chances got higher and higher the closer we got to Sunday. We woke up Sunday morning to cloudy skies but no rain so I was back and forth on what to do. We decided to make the executive decision to move the party to Vestavia Country Club which turned out to be a great decision considering the bottom fell out right at 4pm when the party started! Poppy woke Ellie up from her afternoon nap around 3:15, and they headed to the club for the party. She was a little overwhelmed with all of the people excited and in her face, but after about 30 minutes she was good to go!
Oh, by the way...the birthday girl officially took off last Tuesday and hasn't stopped since! I guess she decided it would be way more fun if she were actually able to walk at her party!
We had a pink, polka-dotted giraffe theme!
"Monster cookies" for party favors made by Lollie! (These are a Moore family favorite)!
Sweet little giraffe cake
Ellie had her own very special cake.
MeMe (Rusty's mom) & Ellie
Baby Jackson made the trip all the way from Hotlanta!!
Ellie giving Will some love...so sweet.
Baby Katherine arrives!!
Ellie & Caroline crusing in the wagon.
Really breaking that wagon in...4 deep!
Uncle Josh & Ellie
The hat didn't last very long!
She knew what to do!
Look at this trio...so cute! These precious babies were all born within a week of one another! Wesley Moore, Katherine Crowe, and Jackson Brien.
Mallory made it to the party also!
She She & her girls!
After the party...Ellie decides cleaning up is over-rated and tries to escape! It's amazing how fast they can go once they're up on their feet!
Overall we had a wonderful birthday weekend!! Ellie had a blast at her party, and I have decided it's not so bad sharing a birthday. It's actually pretty darn special!!
