Our Thanksgiving

We had an awesome Thanksgiving with our families on both sides. We were on the road a lot, and Ellie was a champ spending 3 nights in 3 different houses. Let's just say she passed out in my arms tonight and was so happy to be back in her house and in her bed!

Well, to say the least our Auburn Tigers didn't exactly pull it through, but we still had a good time over at the Gammill's. It actually helped having a 7 month old around to divert my attention away from that miserable 2nd half! 2008 has been a great year in many respects, but we Prewetts are looking forward to a fresh start for 2009!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

At least in Ellie's room! I got her a pink tree for her room, and she helped me decorate it and put it up in her room on Friday. It is so fun to watch her stare at it in amazement, and I cannot wait to see how she reacts to the big tree in the living room. Rusty and I feel so blessed to have Ellie here with us to share in this holiday season and cannot wait to make lots of memories together!
What we've been up to this week....

Anna Spencer came over for a playdate and to "help" me with Ellie one afternoon...
Ellie helped me unload the dishwasher...
And lastly...I have been trying to figure out a good, safe place to put Ellie while doing laundry because I don't like to leave her alone while I'm closed up in the laundry room. Well, I finally came up with a solution, and she loves it! So for you moms who may have the same problem here you go!
Rusty, Ellie, and I are truly looking forward to spending this Thanksgiving together with our family. We have so much to be thankful for this year. We will head down to Atmore to be with Rusty's family on Weds and then up to Anniston to be with my family on Friday. We hope all of you have a wonderful Thanksgiving as well!!

Weekend in the Atm...

Rusty, Ellie, and I went down to Atmore for the weekend to visit with family. Poppy (my dad) built a cabin about 30 minutes outside of Atmore about a year-and-a-half ago on our hunting land, and Ellie spent her first night out there on Sat night despite the fact that I said I would never stay there! The entire cabin runs off of a generator since there is no power out there! Rusty and I actually stayed out there for the first time last Jan, and my poor dad spent the entire weekend trying to prove to me that it wasn't so bad. The cabin "passed my test," and I have to admit I thoroughly enjoy our time there now. There are lots of great amenities to include indoor plumbing, and I can even use my hairdryer with no trouble at all! Not so bad! This weekend we watched a little Auburn football (another disappointing game!), ate a LOT and enjoyed the beautiful, cool weather! Poppy's cabin

On Sunday Ellie got to visit with Momese, her great-grandmother and namesake (Eloise), and also with her Great Aunt Ann. Ann surprised Ellie with a pre-Christmas treat, "Twas the Night Before Christmas!"

Amazing...

My photographer that is! Ellie went for her 6 month portraits on Monday, and I love what I've seen so far! Ellie did great especially considering all of her outfit changes! Here are 2 of the pictures Heather (photographer) posted on her blog. We're still waiting for the rest of them, and I'll post the slideshow on the blog once she sends it to me.

Our Weekend

Lollie (my mom) came up for a visit on Friday so Ellie, Mom, Anna Kate, Katherine and I all went to Christmas Village. We had a great time seeing AK and K, but unfortunately we forgot to snap a pic of the girls' first shopping trip together! I did get a cute shot of Ellie and her giraffe that Lollie got her for Christmas. Hopefully she won't remember it when she sees it on Christmas morning! ha! I think it's a hit with her though. We also had a visitor over the weekend. Uncle Sam came to see us since Mandy and Baby Jackson are down visiting her mom in Montgomery. Ellie loved Sam and had a huge grin on her face every time he walked into the room! We didn't get to visit all that much since I kept being reminded that it was a "guys weekend," but it was definitely great to see him. We can't wait to have the whole Brien clan here in December! (Ellie was more interested in the tv in the pic below rather than posing for the camera!)We also hit a milestone over the weekend......pulling up in our crib! Well, she has actually been doing this for a couple of weeks, but when I walked in after her nap today, I found her in action! Rusty and I decided the time has come to move her crib mattress down to the lower setting. Our baby girl is growing too fast! It feels like yesterday that we were putting the crib together!
She occasionally likes to use her bumper as a pillow. So stinkin' cute!

Leigh's Wedding

My cousin Leigh got married this past Saturday so Rusty, Ellie and I went to the wedding. Rus strolled Ellie around during the ceremony so I didn't have to worry about her "talking" loudly in the middle of the vows! She is really enjoying talking and making sounds lately. Leigh looked beautiful, and we all had a great time! Congrats Leigh and Michael!!

Our Growing Baby Girl!

Ellie is now 6 1/2 months old, and I cannot believe how quickly she is changing! She has brought so much joy to Rusty and me, and we hope all of you can enjoy watching her grow with us! Here are a few recent pictures. She is getting so close to being able to crawl so I've got to get our house baby-proofed before she just scoots away from me one day!

Playing over at her friend Mallory's house.

We had a girls' night at Cocina Superior last week
with Aunties Meghan, Leigh, and Nancy!

Out on a walk for one of our first cold snaps...wearing
Mommy's sweater from when she was a baby! Looks
pretty good to be 28 years old!

Ellie's 1st Halloween!!

Ellie had a great 1st Halloween! Rusty, Ellie and I went over to our neighbors' house, The Ainsworth's, for a fun Halloween get-together. Ellie had a great time playing in the grass while all of the big kids ran all around her! She did great, and we ended up making it to one house for trick or treating before she crashed.
