More Birthday Fun!

Before we get to the birthday fun, we have exciting news!! I went to the doctor this morning and found out that Ellie will be a BIG SISTER by this time tomorrow (hopefully)! We are checking in bright and early tomorrow morning to be induced. Will post pictures as soon as we can. Please pray for our family and this new miracle that we are bringing into the world. We are very excited, nervous, anxious, etc etc around here and cannot wait to meet him!!

Our baby is officially 2 years old! We made it through April 17th without having her brother making his appearance into this world so Ellie and I still get to spend our special day together...just the 2 of us! Before school on Friday...not really in the mood for pictures...
because I made the mistake of telling her we were on our way to pick these up to take to her class! So it's all she could think about!
My mom and sister came up for a couple of days, and we all went out for dinner on Friday night and had a great time.
Birthday girls...
Saturday (the actual real birthday day) we woke up bright and early (5:15 a.m.) and were out playing in the sandbox by 7:30 I believe! She always gets up early when we have fun visitors in town because she's so anxious to see them!
Playing outside...
Mallory even dropped by for some play time.
Being silly!
Time for Yo Gabba Gabba ice cream cake! I will say I was completely fine with sharing this delish cake from Brusters!!
A few fun birthday treats for E!
Blowing her candles out...she was SO excited about the Yo Gabbas!

She just dug right in!
And loved every last bite!
Her Yo Gabba t'shirt that Daddy and I gave her!
Yo Gabba sticker fun!

The Yo Gabbas were great, but when she opened this from Lollie it was all over!
Her drum!!

She got so serious while playing...it was hysterical!
What is this move???
Look at the seriousness on her face!
Overall we had a great day/weekend. Ellie was a little under the weather on Saturday afternoon but is much better now thank goodness. Poor Rusty had a huge surprise for all of our friends to come over Saturday evening to celebrate MY 30th, but those plans had to be cancelled due to a sick little girl. We're all well now and keeping our fingers crossed that we stay that way so we're fine for Baby Brother's arrival TOMORROW!!!!

Relaxing Weekend & Baby's Nursery

We had the best weekend just relaxing and enjoying this beautiful weather we have been having! Paw Paw came into town on Friday and came by to visit with Ellie, and he even kept her Friday night while Rusty and I went to dinner! We figured it was probably the last date night we were going to get for quite a while.

Ellie and her Paw Paw playing outside...
Paw Paw putting together Ellie's new easel that he got her for her birthday. She LOVES it!!!!
Ellie and Paw Paw had a great time playing outside, and he even took her to "Donald's," which is a huge treat for her. He laughed and asked me if I had fed the child all day since she ate her entire cheeseburger, french fries, all of her milk, and ice cream afterwards! I just laughed and said, "no, that's just my child for you...a bottomless pit!" Oh, speaking of, I had a note sent home from school today recommending that I add more to her lunches because she is finishing hers before all of the other kids and taking food off of their plate! OMG! Nothing worse to make you feel like a crappy mother knowing your child ran out of food!

On to the rest of our weekend...we enjoyed a LOT of outside time. Ellie is loving all of her new outside toys she got for her bday.
We don't know what this is or where she got it. It looks like she's doing the "funky chicken!" She runs around doing it all of the time.

We finished the weekend off with pizza at Whole Foods on Sunday evening and then a trip to Yogurt Mountain! Yummy! That meant E had ice cream on Fri, Sat (we had a bday party), and Sun, and boy was she happy about it!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I wanted to share a few pics of the baby's nursery. It's all ready and waiting on this little guy's arrival!
The painting over his crib is of our dog, Riley. There is a lady at a local store here who will do custom canvases, and she did a fabulous job on this one!
I took her this picture of him to copy...
This picture doesn't do it justice. I couldn't get the lighting right b/c I am terrible with my camera, but here's a closer image...

And last but not least...the precious daygown that my mom (his Lollie) smocked him to wear home from the hospital. This is very special to me, and I appreciate my mom doing it for him in the midst of also planning a wedding for my sister!!!
Now, all we need around here is a baby boy to make an appearance! Less than 2 weeks and counting...

Ellie's 2nd Birthday Party!!!

What a fun and exciting weekend!!! We celebrated Ellie's 2nd birthday on Saturday (a couple of weeks early in case baby brother decides to come sooner than expected) and celebrated Easter with Lollie, Poppy, She She, and Thomas on Sunday!

Our Birthday Girl...can't believe she's almost 2!!

What better birthday theme than Easter? We had some delicious cake...
and cupcakes!!

Fun favors for everybody!
And this little munchkin couldn't keep her hands off of the cupcakes once she discovered them!
And grazed around the food table for at least the first 10 minutes of her party! I don't think she's ever had so much food and candy within her reach!
Opening her very 1st present (one of her faves!) from MeMe...
It's a basketball goal!!!
Going for the "slam dunk!"
Perhaps her favorite present of the day from Uncle Travis..."Brobee" from Yo Gabba Gabba! Or "Yoby" as E calls him. Uncle Travis knows this little girl very well!!!
Dancing with "Yoby"
Enjoying her other favorite present...her new sandbox that Daddy and Poppy made!
Ellie was excited to have lots of friends at her party. "Spencer" and "Liney" came!
Miss Katherine...
Wesley...
Mallory...
Elliott...
and even Mary Clark made it to her very 1st birthday party!!!We couldn't have an Easter birthday party without an egg hunt!!
Ellie decided she didn't need her basket because all she cared about was opening the eggs, getting the marshmellow treats out, and throwing them back on the ground!
They were all so cute hunting eggs. Mallory found one!
Katherine and Mallory hunting away!
Her favorite part of the day...cake time! She was all smiles for that!

The guys even enjoyed the party! It helps when you provide some nice, cold beverages just for them!
Finally, she got to open her presents! After her party, Ellie and Poppy decided it would be lots of fun to let all of her balloons go and watch them fly high in the sky.

Watching them go "bye bye" in her adorable apron that Katherine gave her!
Lovin it! Mama wasn't lovin it too much because I hated to see the balloons go, but I decided what the heck...they'd just be floating around my house for weeks until they deflated anyway!
This smile perfectly sums up our entire day! We woke up to dreary, rainy weather which just does not work for an outdoor Easter egg hunt birthday party. But, by around 1:00 the sun starting peeking through, and it turned out to be a beautiful afternoon. I couldn't have ordered better weather! Thanks to all of Ellie's family and friends who came to celebrate her special day! She had an absolute blast!

And of course the Easter bunny stopped by to leave her several treats! I'm so glad he knew her obsession with umbrellas, and now she finally has her very own. She's singing "It's raining, it's pouring" in this picture...

And oh my!! A Yo Gabba dvd!!!
After seeing all of her treats from the Easter bunny, we headed to church with my family and enjoyed a delicious lunch afterwards. We have several pictures from that part of our weekend, but I promised She She I wouldn't post them since E wore her dress that she is going to be wearing in the wedding!! What an awesome weekend, and I am sad that it's over. Our baby had such a great time, and that makes us so happy!

3 weeks and counting 'til this little bambino is supposed to arrive. Amazing how quickly it's flown by. There has been discussion that we might induce on the 19th or 2oth...stay tuned!
