Some Much Needed R&R

Wow is all I can say. Wow, I didn't realize how much we needed a little break away from reality! She She and Josh had another party this past weekend down south so Daddy decided to treat Ellie and me to a little beach vacation. Despite the crazy weather we still had an absolutely wonderful time and enjoyed ourselves, just the 3 of us, for probably the last time before Baby #2 arrives in a few weeks!

Morning #1 we woke up to this, and it was cold...
That didn't stop us from heading to the indoor pool though! Ellie discovered that "jumping" into the pool is the greatest thing ever! We had to make sure Daddy was there every second she got anywhere near the edge of the pool because she would just jump and jump and jump. The child has no fear! (Mama didn't step foot in the pool even though Ellie kept saying "Mama, get in." Mama doesn't have a swimsuit that fits right now, and I didn't want to scare anybody!!)

These 2 had a blast together, and she is definitely a Daddy's girl right now!
After the pool and a good nap we headed to the beach. The sun was out by this point, but it was still freezing! Didn't slow Miss E down a bit though!
Notice the wet pants...she didn't like that at all. After her saying "take pants off" about 50 times we finally gave in.
Didn't seem to bother her one bit!
Day #2 was MUCH better. Sunny and warm so we headed to the beach first thing! (Mama spent a lot of time on the towel just watching...I am feeling like a beached whale at this point!)
It was a gorgeous day!
We even got to go out for dinner a couple of nights. Yes, Ellie's lips are white after eating a mint that the kind hostess gave her!

We made some awesome memories...just the 3 of us!
On our way back to Birmingham we stopped through Atmore to visit with Rusty's Great Aunt Vivi in the nursing home. She has always absolutely adored Ellie and was very happy to see her. I am so glad we were able to get a nice visit in because we got a call today that she passed away. Rusty's mom is an only child, and Aunt Vivi was like a 2nd mother to her and like a 2nd grandmother to Rusty and his brothers so needless to say we were all very close to her. She never had any children so she treated all of us like we were her children. She loved my child so much, and you could just see her eyes light up every time Ellie walked into the room. She was such a wonderful lady and will be dearly missed. Please keep Rusty and his family in your prayers. We will always have a special place in our hearts for Aunt Vivi.
