Early Birthday Surprises!

The week of March 14th Ellie was out of school for Spring Break. MeMe came up to Birmingham to take her on her very first birthday trip! MeMe takes all of the grandchildren on a birthday trip once they are potty trained so this was Ellie's first one, and she had so much fun! They went to the McWane Center on Monday to meet the Backyardigans, and Ellie LOVED it! She also got to spend the night in a hotel, jump on the bed, and swim in the indoor pool. She told MeMe it was "the best birthday trip ever!" They got a picture of her with the Backyardigans, but it is a little blurry because it was taken with MeMe's iphone...

We've also been enjoying the nice weather and getting outside a lot. Greer's first time in the sandbox, and he loved it!

Then, this past weekend, Lollie and Poppy headed up this way with a BIG surprise for Ellie and Greer! We explained to Ellie that they would have an early birthday surprise for she and Greer. And when they got here, this is what it looked like...

After showing Ellie some pictures, she quickly figured out that it was a new SWINGSET! Woohoo!!! Daddy and Poppy working hard on Friday afternoon...

Poppy was nice enough to work on it Saturday morning while we ran to a birthday party, and when we got back, it looked like this...getting closer...

By Saturday afternoon...walla!!!

I don't know which she likes better...the monkey bars...which by the way she can do them all the way across all by herself...
or the see-saw swing (we don't know what else to call it!)...

Greer has thoroughly enjoyed it as well!
We honestly have not been able to keep Ellie off of it! She woke up this morning and said, "We need to go wipe my see-saw swing off because it's wet from the rain, and then I can ride it."

Thank you Lollie and Poppy for such an AWESOME birthday surprise!!

On Sunday Lollie and Ellie went to church together... and then we made cupcakes!

Even this little one got into them...we looked over and found him like this...
after he figured out he could do this...and reach them on the counter!
"I'm just practicing for my party in a few weeks, Mom."
