Father's Day Weekend

We had an awesome Father's Day weekend. Ellie got to go swimming 3 times! It started Friday evening with a family trip to the pool where we enjoyed some good bbq too! Saturday night Nancy, Chris, and Wesley came over to grill out, and Ellie and Wesley had a great time playing. Then today, Sunday, we went to church for the first time since Greer's arrival (when we picked E up from the nursery, she turned around to all of her little friends and shouted, "this is my baby brother!" it was so cute!), had a nice Father's Day lunch, and then met the Gammill's at the pool for Ellie to swim again! All I can say is that Greer has been an absolute angel baby over the past couple of weeks. He has really settled into a good routine and makes it so easy for us to get out and about. All 3 times we were at the pool over the weekend he slept the entire time. He even fell asleep in the swing this morning while we were all running around trying to get ready for church. I'm sure most of you are saying, "What's the big deal?" Well, it's a really big deal to me because my first baby was the total opposite, and it just makes me truly appreciate Greer's little laid-back personality! It's so nice to be able to take him anywhere and everywhere and not have to be on pins and needles the entire time worrying that he's going to have an outburst! We go for his 8-week check-up tomorrow, and I'm not looking forward to it...the shots just get to me every time!

Now, time to brag on the 2 best father's in my life (and 2 of Ellie's most favorite people in the world)! Daddy...you are the best Daddy to our children, and we are so truly thankful to have you in our lives!!

I wanted to get a picture of them together with their Daddy, but Greer was doing this during lunch so I didn't want to disturb him!
Ellie insisted on getting a picture with her brother anyway!

And, to the other Daddy in my life....we love and appreciate you SO much Poppy!!!!

And, for kicks, I decided to pull out some pics of Ellie at 8 weeks and compare them to Greer. Here's Greer at 8 weeks...
And here's Ellie (this was taken on Father's Day Sunday 2008)...
and so was this (it's funny because they're the exact same age for holidays, etc since their bdays are only 3 days apart)...
Think they look alike? I definitely think so...Greer's cheeks are just a little fuller than hers at this age.
I had to beg the little stinker to get in a pic with me!
More weekend fun...playing in the sandbox...
and having popsicles with Wesley!
Our summer is great so far! Life with 2 definitely has its challenges, but we are loving every minute of it! Rusty and I just started laughing tonight watching Ellie be the wild child that she is. She ran up to me when we got back from the pool, and said, "Mama, I need 40 dollars" as serious as could be. Then, as she was doing summer saults on the living room floor, she stood up and said, "That's hilarious," and put her little hand over her mouth and laughed. Never a dull moment!

Our Life These Days...

This morning, while trying to clean up this mess...

My angel was doing this...
and my wild woman was doing this...trying to pick things from her Daddy's garden that she knows she's not supposed to touch (she can now open the back door!)...
and she went to her closet and put those boots on all by herself!
and did I mention going through the cabinets and spraying Pam everywhere???
Oh, and I have already cleaned up Windex that she found and sprayed all in her hallway by her room and the liquid coffee creamer that she grabbed off the counter and spilled all over the kitchen floor!!

Last but not least...I accidentally left the laundry room door open so she proceeded to go "feed Riley!"
and decided she'd have a bite or two herself!
Riley sure appreciates it!
So for those of you with only one child and planning to have another one someday...remember this! The new baby isn't the problem....it's the 2 year old!! This all leaves me saying to myself, "can I please go back to the beach???!!!!!!!"

Beach Bums

We've been here for a week now...

and are loving every minute of it!
Unfortunately the oil hit late Tuesday so I'm glad we got some good beach time in before then. Greer's lovin' some relaxation time himself.
We're headed back home in a few days.

She She & Josh's Wedding!!

Well, I am finally getting around to posting pictures from Shelby and Josh's wedding weekend. Having 2 children is quite the challenge, and I honestly have just been able to find the time to sit down and do this. Right now we are down at the beach with Lollie so having an extra set of hands to help with the 2 munchkins has allowed me to get this done!
Ellie and I went to the Bridesmaid Luncheon at Brewton Country Club on Friday while Greer stayed with MeMe.
All of the bridesmaids and the bride!
G.G. Mama with Shelby and Mom.
Ellie was very well-behaved during lunch and acted like the perfect little lady.
Ellie and me on our way out for the rehearsal.
Lollie and Ellie at the rehearsal.
Rehearsal Dinner...
Shelby looked so pretty the entire weekend!

The Big Day!

Greer made it to the church for pictures too and was a little angel!
I loved She She's dress...it fit her so perfectly.
My little flower girl who did great by the way. She walked down the aisle with me like a champ, and when she got down to the front of the church she proceeded to walk over to the pew in front of us climb over it to get to her Lollie! The plan was to send her to the nursery right after she walked down the aisle so we did, and as she was walking out, she yelled out "cupcake!" Her Lollie promised her a cupcake if she walked down the aisle like a big girl, and boy did she remember. She had the entire church laughing!
The reception was at my parents house in the backyard, and it was beautiful. My parents and my brother Thomas worked like crazy to get the yard ready and did a great job. Unfortunately between keeping up with a 2 year old and dealing with a 3 1/2 week old I was not able to get many good pictures at the reception.
Shelby's cake...
Father/Daughter dance...Dad made us all cry! Momese meeting Greer for the first time! She immediately fell in love. Now both of my children are named after her pretty much! Her name is Eloise Greer Moore so that's where we got Ellie and Greer's names. My dad's middle name is also Greer so it has even more meaning because of that.
Greer made it to the reception for a couple of hours and managed to be passed around by about 25 people probably. Luckily he did great tolerating all of it!
Mallory even made it to the wedding, and Ellie was thrilled to have a buddy.
Words cannot express how stinkin cute Ellie was out on the dance floor. Literally from the moment the band started playing she took center stage and danced like crazy. She stayed out there for 2 hours and was nonstop. I could not believe it! I knew she liked to dance and was thinking before the wedding, "oh, I hope she'll get out there and be that cute little toddler dancing at least for one song." She definitely came through for me!

And this is who she gets it from!

You see...well, and I guess her Poppy too! Rusty, my dad, and my aunt having a blast!

Thanks Poppy for hosting such a fabulous wedding for your youngest daughter and be glad you're DONE! ha! We had an awesome weekend, and I was both happy and sad to have it behind us! I'm just glad we survived. We definitely could not have done it without MeMe's help the entire weekend.
