Christmas 2010

What a fun one! We couldn't have asked for more getting to spend it with our happy, healthy 2.5-year old and 8-month old! We woke up Christmas Eve morning to a puny little Greer so I called the ped's office and got him in at 8:15. I was pretty sure he had another ear infection and quickly got confirmation that he did. #2 and counting. After a dose of Augmentin and Motrin we all loaded up and headed to brunch with Lollie, Poppy, and Thomas. I was ecstatic that we were able to coax them to coming up for Christmas Eve and morning! We missed having Aunt She She, but now that she's married she has to make sacrifices like spending it with her new hubby's family! Ellie had to get one more hug in from Santa at brunch. She was a little concerned as to why he wasn't at the North Pole getting ready for the big night, but we explained that this was just one of Santa's "helpers."
Again, she was a little nervous when he walked up but warmed up quickly!
I mentioned something about getting a family picture, and we looked over and found her standing in front of the tree posed and ready!
After brunch we headed back home for a little relaxation and then all loaded up and went to our Christmas Eve service at church. Rusty took Ellie up for the children's moment for the very first time, and he said when they asked who's birthday we would be celebrating the next day, she was the very first one to blurt out, "Jesus'!" We were SO proud!!!
After church we got home, changed into pj's, and got everything out for Santa.

The next day Ellie was so excited to run in and see what Santa had brought! Although she already knew she had a scooter. The little stinker came into our room around 6:15 a.m., climbed in our bed, and went back to sleep until around 7:00 when she woke up and said, "rise and shine, its time to go see my scooter that Santa brought me!" I was like, "what?" How do you know he brought you a scooter? She proceeded to say, "because I saw it in the living room on the rug." Apparently she noticed it when running through the living room to our room! This is by far her favorite gift so far! She was SOOO excited!
G was excited about his push car too!
So proud that she now has a suitcase like Lollie's and MeMe's...
Stockings!
And her new trampoline was another big hit! I think I was more excited than her about this. I'm hoping now that Santa brought this it will mean no more throwing our couch cushions on the floor so she can jump on the springs!
He was just happy to be there with us as always!

And after we finished opening Santa presents it started snowing really hard! And yes, I win bad mother of the year for letting her go out barefoot. It got a little out of hand because I planned on just walking out onto the front porch. This child will not keep shoes or socks on her feet for anything. She loves being barefoot!
She even had snow in her hair, and we thought that was funny!
We quickly packed up and headed south. First stop, Momese's house...

My cousin Sarah with Greer...
She loved this and walked around casting spells on everyone!
After Momese's we headed over to Rusty's grandmothers house and spent Saturday night there. Unfortunately I didn't take any pics, but E and G had a blast with their cousins like always! We woke up Sunday morning and headed to Lollie and Poppy's for another round of Christmas.
This is hilarious. So Ellie is obsessed with eating Greer's puffs. You know the puffs that disolve in their mouths that are for babies??? Well, my mom put 3 huge containers of them with Ellie's stocking, and she couldn't have been more thrilled. She ate every last one of them in a matter of 10 minutes in that container below!
G was loving all of his new toys. It was time for some red and blue around our house!
Sporting his new space mobile from Lollie and Poppy! This thing will do a little bit of everything and will grow with him which is best of all.
And he had to have an anywhere chair like his sister...

Ellie...just being Ellie...what can I say...
Last stop...MeMe's house. E got a new trike and helmet and was so excited!
And that's it! Now we're just resting and recovering down at Lollie and Poppy's for the week. We couldn't have asked for a better Christmas! Hope yours was just as wonderful.
